hi!!!! to add on to the study abroad conversation — i agree with everything you said jo and everything the anon said as well! my semester abroad got cut short by more than half the time i was supposed to be there bc of covid which was so devastating… it was my first time living away from my family, living by myself, and traveling outside of the country and i was horribly homesick for a month. but even the 3 weeks i had of making new friends, building little rituals, and learning to move with the fear rather than fighting it were PROFOUNDLY transformative and opened up doors for me i didn’t know were even there! i completely agree that if it will put you in a position of harm then don’t push yourself — but if you have this opportunity and are confident you could get it and the worst thing that could happen is that you’re scared to be living in a new place in a new (independent) way, i really encourage you to take the plunge bc creating a new life somewhere far away from home is one of the most beautiful ways to learn about yourself and others i think! feel free to message me any time if you want to talk about going abroad and navigating the fear! im rooting for you anon 💗💗💗
thank you so much for sending this in, you're a gem 💗💕we're all cheering you on, anon!!!!!
