With Loyd waddling by her side, Dawn happily walked along Route 201 with a grin on her face. It had been many months since she last visited her mother back at Twinleaf, though she had been occasionally video calling.
Come to think of it, it had been a long while since she last spoke or saw her friends. Dawn was lost in thought and mulling over that fact when Loyd perked up and turned around. She turned to the Emperor Pokémon and opened her mouth to ask what was wrong when she heard quick footsteps coming towards her.
It was the exact moment she turned her head that a flash of blonde appeared and nudged her greatly, nearly knocking her down if she hadn't grabbed onto the person's arm.
"Arceus, Barry!"
