I just watched the legendary S5 Halloween Heist ft. The Peraltiago Proposal...

And as friggen PSYCHED as I was seeing it played out and not through tumblr gifs (and there was much squealing and writhing on my couch and repeating of the scene) and honestly the sheer EXCITEMENT on Jake’s face when he told Amy to read the belt??? Ugh hellllll yes I am here for that pure fracking JOY!!! The fact that Amy kept saying he couldn’t surprise her...

The fact that he proposed where they had their first real kiss, on a night so special to them both and the squad, and the reason he knew it was time to propose was as simple as looking over at Amy as she identified a spelling mistake on a crossword in outrage while in bed just chilling together on a normal evening, with ALLLLLL of the heart eyes...

AND knew the exact date?!?!?!? THAT WAS ALL AMAZING AND I LOVED IT!!!

However my absolute favourite part of the whole episode was that Charles was the first one to find out and his reaction to the whole thing...

Mmhm.

And they don’t even need to say words...and this has literally made Charles’s life COMPLETE.

And this guy has been a hardcore shipper since 3 years prior to the events of the show! So I think it’s only fair that Jake’s best friend and Peraltiago Shipper #1 gets the news first...and he reacted amazingly! XD

friendly reminder that Jacob Peralta knew he was going to propose to Amy Santiago when they babysat Terry’s kids in Moo Moo (and he was probably imaging their own kids), when he held her hair back in Cop-Con, when he found her on the roof and encouraged her to take the Sargeant’s exam even though he knew it would change their relationship, when she talked about them going away together and that she’d wait for him, when he was sent to jail, when she visited him in jail and when he literally risked his life in prison just for a chance to talk to her i’m fine

okay guys but hear me out, can we talk about how jake proposed!!!!

AT THE END OF THE HALLOWEEN HEIST IN THE EVIDENCE ROOM (where they had their "real first kiss"), like perfect timing and place. and starting with the sex-tape jokes, BOTH OF THEM!!!! it's so so so amazing 😭

and when jake started talking it was so emotional, funny at the same time and proving that he's deeply in love with her (and how much he admires her). all he said was perfect and her responses to what he was saying 💛. I'M SO SO HAPPY THAT THE WRITERS DECIDED TO DO IT LIKE THAT (although without all the halloween heist and amy thinking it was a joke could be more romantic, don't get me wrong I LOVED everything about this episode and the proposal but you know I don't know if I'm explaining right but anyway I LOVED IT WITH ALL MY HEART)

Buckle up everyone because this is gonna be about The Proposal™

It was kind of a weird night. Jake was was clueless at first beacause, you know, it was december so there was nothing suspicious about them getting their picture taken at the mall photo studio. The Jake and Amy Christmas Portrait was already a tradition by now. He only started to get slightly confused because Amy finally agreed to go to that shady restaurant and get lobsters that definitely should not be that cheap. Now, he was a bit puzzled when she had insisted they go all the way to Manhattan so late at night because apparently that’s where the Polar Swim was happening this year and she wanted to go cheer Captain Holt and Rosa. Then he was officially suspicious when they ended up at Times Square instead. Things started to make even less sense while she was dragging him by the arm to a very specific spot in the middle of all the commotion and stopped right in front of a youth choir. Just as he as about to turn to her and ask what the hell was going on, they started to sing and he stopped dead on his tracks. “Jacob Peralta, will you marry Amy Santiago?” He immediately turned around  and there she was, down on one knee, in the middle of Times Square at midnight, holding a tiny tiger cub and a ring with a huge smile on her face. And for the first time in a very long time, Jake Peralta was absolutely speechless until Amy finally said something.

‘So... are you going to say anything anytime soon? Cause I’m renting this one by the hour and also I really have no idea how exactly safe this is.’

His smile was the widest, his eyes were sparkling and the only thing he could possibly do was run to her while yelling YES to the 500 german tourists watching and clapping around them.
