Keyleth needs to stop going to Vex for validation in her feelings about Vax, she needs to go to Pike.

Vax is literally Vex' other half, who would and did give his life to save, as he did and does for Keyleth, and Vex *also* has her lifelong lover, who she's supposed to live longer than, and who has official status that complements her own, so of course that's what she wants for Keyleth and Vax both. Vex can't let go of her those she loves, to the point of extending Trinket's life unnaturally and considering it for Percy, so she can't imagine Keyleth giving up on Vax in any way either.

All the time, Pike is there, loving Scanlan, but knowing their lives don't always complement each other, and that they need time apart, *and that in between she can have other lovers*. She has Grog as her platonic companion, and Scanlan may be the one she keeps letting back in, but she gets to make that choice.

I'm not going to suggest that Pikelan is a completely healthy relationship, but I think it might be a healthier model for a couple who can't be together and won't talk about it than what Vaxleth have going on.
