Stupid girl who run away from home because the stepmom did not believe her about spiders that only Annabeth could see and left no physical evidence

Dumbass Annabeth who wanted to listen to the sirens and was not smart enough to hand over her weapon before doing so.

Imbecile who only fights with a puny little dagger and at a basic, beginner level at that.

Moron who argued with the Sphinx about the easy trivial questions because she wanted a hard riddle.

Idiot who nearly ruined a diplomatic situation by judo flipping the new leader of the enemy group.

Feel free to offer up more suggestions on how to call out Annabeth Chase's utter stupidity. Bird Brain Annabeth.

I hate the allegations of Percy would stand up to Annabeth if it was abuse because Percy stood up to Gabe. Percy hardly stood up to Gabe. Sure he talked back but he still gave money and the things he still asked for. Malicious compliance is still compliance.

Whether you like it or not, it is still abuse because in the end, Percy's safety was compromised. In the end, he chose to be silent to maintain the peace. In the end, there was still pain and contempt. So yeah, I know people wouldn't take this so well but things was not all about about Percy standing up to Gabe. This is also about Percy never standing up to Sally. Because like it or not, she still made things unfair for Percy.

I am not saying Sally is not a great mom. She made sacrifices A LOT OF IT but because of circumstances, she made Percy sacrifice with her.

She brought the man into the house and even though she did most of the work which is financing,bribery and peacemaker for Gabe, Percy still has to play along with her.

So yeah that is a form of abuse and trauma. I am not invalidating Percy's strength. He is my favorite protagonist because of his wit and powers. But that doesn't mean he is immune to trauma. Many fears are not rational as shown by the drowning of Gaia.

So what does that mean for Percabeth? As I said, Percy did not stand up to Sally because he loves Sally and Sally loves him. He literally went to hell for her and back. Of course, he has a lot of excuses for her. But he was still hurt. He was still badly hurt!

So yeah, like Sally, Annabeth was there for him but unlike Sally, it wasn't because she cared. She crashed into his first quest due to favoritism because she wanted glory. Annabeth called him stupid like Gabe called him stupid. To Percy, this feels so familiar. Familiar like something he always done. When he ends up with Annabeth, He kept the waters calm like he did before. It is just sad that he fell back into routine. He deserves so much better.

You know what would be absolutely jokes?

Bloodbender and poison bender Percy working in the Infirmary alongside Will and Annabeth gets poisoned or gets injured, loses a lot of blood (maybe she gets into a fight with someone and they push her and she trips and hits the back of her head causing a haematoma or a haemorrhage. And she gets rolled into the Infirmary.

And the the best person to help her is Percy

Percabeth is broken up here BTW, as they should've after the poison bending scene and Annabitch's ungratefulness and controlling behaviour.

She would throw a bitch fit (so be herself) about Percy helping her. Hell she would out-scream the Apollokids (sonic voices andball) then Will wpuld have to do a manual surgery, all whilst laughing along with the other Apollokids and Asclepiades how Karma is the bitchiest of all.

This person pisses me off, their entire blog is extremely obtuse defenses of Annab*th and I hate how they keep using the "misogyny" word. Ugh

Blogs like those are the problem, and I try not to give them attention because it seems they don't want a discussion. Like, you can point to the main prominent moments of how she mistreats him, and they will still make excuses for her. You can show evidence that Percy does not like how she treats him sometimes, and they will still claim he's fine with it. It's obviously denial, and that's it. I understand they want to defend their ship, but can they at least say these moments aren't healthy?

I don't understand why that's worth defending when she's clearly wrong. It's simply their hubris or pride stopping them... which is their fave's fatal flaw. Birds of a feather flock together, I guess.

And I'm not just talking about this person. I see this with a lot of percabeth stans. They downplay her wrongdoings and accuse us of pointing out the obvious toxic shit. It makes them look a little crazy and dumb. Maybe I'm being harsh, but that's what it looks like to me. How can you sit there and say she's flipping him on concrete and threatening him over something she KNOWS is not his fault, isn't wrong? It's clear denial ATP.

It is like a common toxic mindset

"Abuse didn't happen and if it did, it wasn't that bad and if it was, it's not a big deal. and if it is, it is not Annabeth's fault..and if it was, she didn't mean it…and if she did, it is because she has issues too."

Accountability is important. A good relationship shouldn't have excuses. Why is it so hard to explain that no matter how strong you are, everyone deserves to be treated and spoken to with respect. Do not allow anyone to talk down on you especially if it is someone you love to gain power over you. That is not love. Nobody should be treated that way.

Percy should be with someone who makes him happy in a way that doesn't make him uncomfortable. Someone who is emotionally stable that negates his negativity and could help shoulder the trauma with emotional support. Back at the original stories, he used to speak out but now he hardly does because he feels the need to keep the peace since he blames himself for his own kidnappings. Everyone deserves an environment that brings out the safety or softness in them not the survival in them.

I hate how the stans think that having nothing in common is fine in a relationship. Because in that kind of relationship, someone has to compromise everytime since they have different interest. Just imagining how much you have to argue just so you can be equal in nature.

That isn't the same with Percy and Annabeth since Annabeth has a lot of ammunition against Percy. Because of her fatal flaw, she would want to win everytime. She would always bring up the time where she called him coward. She could always bring up the time in Tartarus. Heck, she could even bring up the time he turned into a guinea pig to win an argument. There would be no compromise.

Many would say it isn't abuse unless there is physical abuse. I am pretty sure that has been shown many times. It isn't about sparring. It is afflicting pain for the sake of your emotions. Annabeth has done that due to her anger and jealousy. People like that make you second guess yourself and Annabeth has done that with Percy by letting him blame himself everytime even though it is not his fault like the kidnappings. Things were not under his control but Annabeth feels like she has to punish or hurt him. She wears him down even so far as making him uncomfortable in Tartarus. She insults his intelligence even though he is smart because she wants to be above him. Of course, she praises his loyalty and strength since it benefits her.

When I first opened Lost Hero, I thought I was going to hear something wonderful about Percy like the aftermath of the Gods' promise but all I got is that people were just calling him Annabeth's boyfriend! What happened to Savior of Olympus! Percy deserves better.
