percy dean has never known a world that he was allowed to explore on his own terms. being sheltered all his life by his paranoid mother reinforced to him that his very existence was something that put him at risk - but after discovering a secret bunker hidden underneath the crashed plane in his backyard, percy came to realize that the person who was supposed to protect him was the last person he could trust. three years have passed since percy uncovered josie's secret, and in that time, he has gone no-contact with her, and has been living with extended family in chestnut ridge, while he tries to figure out his place in the world. he's also been patiently waiting for christopher (his… best friend? boyfriend, maybe?) to return from university overseas, so that they can finally put their long distance relationship behind them. feeling like he finally has the freedom to make his own choices, percy is set on leaving his mother and his memories of his lonely childhood behind in that prison of a trailer, and ideally, never return to strangerville ever again. ...but despite his best intentions, and how hard he might try to suppress his curiosity, percy's mind does still wander toward the unknowns of the universe that he was born from, and whether he will ever have the answers that could bring him peace.

since finishing school, christopher has been constantly applying for jobs. competition has been tough, but it seems like his luck has finally turned around, and he has been offered an engineering job out of state in oasis springs!
