While I discussed Starsailor, I called them to be a part of the scene with Coldplay, though they didn't achieve that band's longevity. However, there were also those did accomplish that, but they didn't do that in the way of the Chris Martin-led band. I mean, Elbow continue to be cherished, yet I don't think they sell as much as the already mentioned giant entity. Moreover, I was always surprised they got lumped together with Coldplay. Nonetheless, I do understand the reason for this, i.e. their early records do feel like they belong within the similar soundscape, albeit with a different focus. While both of them sound the same on the superficial level, Elbow are willing to go outside their usual parameters more often.
