earnest: look - how many calls from me and florence have you ignored in the past week? have you even checked your texts?

percy: uh, i admit i may have been kinda absent -

earnest: absent, seriously? do you even want to know what we were even trying to talk to you about?

percy: uh, yeah. it seems important since you’re so worked up about it.

earnest: i’m worked up? good lord, perce, mom fucking died! and since you couldn’t bother yourself to answer our messages or calls or anything, florence and i had to handle everything by ourselves.

percy: wha- mom? you’re kidding, right?

earnest: (sighs) no. look, i’m too pissed right now to discuss this with you anymore. if you bother to answer your phone, maybe florence or i can tell you how and when exactly she passed away. that’s if either of us feels like talking to you, though.
