Perfect Chemistry

Perfect Chemistry, by Simone Elkeles was a good book. It was kind of the basic "teenage book", the bad boy (who isn't really bad after all) falls in love with the most perfect girl in school (who isn't actually perfect).
Even though it has a basic, over-used plot, it caught my attention. The author put in all the love, betrayal, and dramatics into the story, making it seem pretty average. After reading further into the book, I began to fall for the characters, so I continued to read, despite the over-done plot. My feelings aside, here is the summary.
Britney Ellis, the most popular girl in school, seems to have a perfect life. Perfect hair, boyfriend, and body. She is untouchable on the social ladder. Alex Fuentos, is a gang member, he and his friends being seen as the scum of the earth at Fair field High. Even though he is supposed to be considered scum, everyone is scared of him, and is, of course, undoubtedly sexy. Alex and Britney get paired as Chemistry partners, stuck together for the whole year. As rumors spread like wild fire, Alex and Britney have troubles keeping their relationship strictly academic.
I would recommend this book for all you romance suckers out there, but warning, after reading you may want to date Mexicans.
