let me ramble about my original characters !

FLORENCE CASSIDY  /  MEDIUM

another cassidy? are you starting to realise how non-creative i am with names? *facepalms*  ANYWAY florence is probably one of my most unique and…  weird characters. she was born hundreds and hundreds of years ago and lived in a quaint little village in france with her family. a plague hit, and her parents were desperate to keep her safe, so sought out any form of cure they could find, eventually heading out to find a witch that had been rumoured to cast protection spells. the witch agrees to help them, simply saying that she would need florence to work for her once she turned of age, and her parents readily agreed. she survives the plague, and lives till her seventeenth birthday, which is when things get a little… weird. she starts to hear voices, and starts to see faint figures, which creeps her the hell out and makes her very, very afraid as obviously she lived during a time in which being anything out of the ordinary got you killed. she didn’t tell anyone about the things she was going through, and then one day while in the woods, transforms into a raven. i told you things were going to get weird. the witch calls out to her and she finds her, realising that by “working” for her, she meant that she was to be her connection to the dead. she was essentially cursed with the voices and spirits of the dead, and was destined to help relay their messages onto the witch and their families. at this point, she starts struggling to live any part of her life normally, since she was literally hearing voices all day, every day, and her parents sense that there’s something…  different about her. one of the villagers, suspecting that she’s a witch, ends up drowning her. which should be the end of her story, right? wrong. because she came back to life.

essentially, the spell that the witch cast on florence made her immune. anytime she gets killed, she comes back to life. and since the first time she was killed was when she was 17, she literally stops ageing from this point on. SO she works for the witch, learns how to control her transformations and the voices in her head. the witch ends up getting killed, and she gets set free. and so she’s just lived her life, remaining the same age in appearance, up until modern day, where she now works as a medium, and performs ballet in her spare time  (since it’s the cloest she feels to flying without actually transforming into a raven AND helps her focus on something that isn’t all the shit she’s going through lmao.)  she’s kinda a recluse, doesn’t really have any friends/trust many people. and she’s had journalists start to follow her etc before, suspecting something weird. she sometimes does the whole cullen family thing of attending a load of different schools again and again, just for the fun of it, so you may find her in your school? or you may find her down the street? who knows??  but she’s very nice. just super strange lmao.  //  @perfectiontm

She doesn’t like the game they play down there in the bunker, the Pits, they call them. Making a home out of a place that served no master now, for children that had none of their own. Motherless mongrels, wild beasts, so what if they threw down into a game that felt more like a laugh and an escape from a life that didn’t sit well upon their shoulders? Maybe it was because they were a little... passionate. Passionate, right? That was that feeling, that all consuming need that ate them up whenever they weren’t sitting down and getting high and playing the game and feeling themselves drift into a place of make believe...

Could she say that was enough of a reason? Following the blonde outside as she stands there with her arms crossed against the cold that’s only now begun to set in against the darkness of Fall, the sunsetting of the comfort they knew to enjoy with Summer’s passing. Her lips curl into a tentative smile, careful to touch her elbow so she isn’t spooked despite the way her limbs look stretched and monstrous out here within the shadows, a quiet, “Hey,” set to CUT through the empty silence that echoes within the woods.

“Is everything okay?” It’s not, and she’s not blind, nor are the people down there, but at least she can ask. Of course it’s not okay, with one of her best friends stabbed and left for dead, with him patched up and on the run from the police now. With all of them, she knows, distracted with a game that distracts them from the terrible nature of their present reality. It feels like Betty’s the only one facing it out there on her own. But she isn’t screaming HELP, so what’s she supposed to do with that? “You seem kinda... well. Yanno.”
