A Perfect Morning

Walking into the living room with my head down I contemplate the shadows on the ground before me. The light shining in from a nearby window tricks me into looking up, wary of movement. As I lift my head I hear a slight sound behind me, sending the hairs on the back of my neck straight upwards. I draw up my courage to turn and face whatever horrid monsters lay before me- and as I turn around I hear a slight shuffling. Finally finishing my 180 I see Jay. Looking straight at me from across the room he shuffles a little closer still, sliding a little on the tile. For a second I just take him in. His slight curly and short golden-brown hair, like the waves of an ocean made of gold. His lean but muscular body hidden by one of his signature over-sized, incredibly comfy sweaters. And last but not least his eyes- pools of honey in the sunlight warming me up from the inside. How did I ever manage to find someone so incredibly perfect? My moment of reverence is broken by Jay sliding towards me across the floor on the heels of his sock covered feet. “Goooooood mooooooooooorning!!!!!!”, he says as he bumps into me. The impact forces me to the ground and I stand up quickly, rubbing the arm I landed on. “Dude. Aim for the couch next time, will you?”, I say, a bit annoyed. To fix the situation he flashes a quick, mischievous smile at me before going into the kitchen, presumably to make our morning tea. “I love you!”, I yell after him. “So you tell me everyday... and I love you too.”, he replies.
