Oi anon this is actually extremely interesting! Not just because Marko is on a roll, but because there’s a couple quotes in there which made me 👀 pause a little.
Hmm, this seems a situation somewhat similar to what Mercedes went through when Dieter Zetsche had to step down from his role within Daimler… let’s keep in mind that Zetsche was a “big spender” who loveddd to invest in Mercedes the f1 team (that was also before Covid and cost cap, though).
No wonder Zetsche was pals with Toto (and Lewis), and things changed quite a bit once Ola Kallenius took Zetsche’s place.
So while situation is not the very same, seems like Mateschitz’s death left a huge hole within Red Bull’s structure, and some individuals who were maybe pals with him, could’ve suddenly found themselves in a much more vulnerable position, without his “protection”.

Which could mean that:
- yes, Mercedes might have performance clauses over George (should he quit performing at the level they request, which is quite common I’d say, unless you are a WDC winning driver, maybe)
-that George might have performance exit clauses in his contract… vs Mercedes.
This could mean that if Mercedes will keep on this downward trend, George might have the possibility to do something funny leave…
