Alexander Calder #tatemodern #american #sculpture #london #performingsculpture (στην τοποθεσία Tate Modern)
Opening Soon: Alexander Calder’s mobile, one of the most radical contributions to modern art, introduced the concept of performativity and kinetic qualities to sculpture. The Calder Prize is awarded to artists who continue his legacy by challenging hierarchy of material and create new directions for sculpture.
We celebrate this in our upcoming exhibition at Pace London, “The Calder Prize 2005-2015.” Coinciding with Tate Modern’s “Alexander Calder: Performing Sculpture” the show explores the enduring impact of his work through the work of six laureates of The Calder Prize: Tara Donovan, Žilvinas Kempinas , Tomás Saraceno , Rachel Harrison, Darren Bader, and Haroon Mirza.
Opening on Thursday, February 4 at Pace London.
