There's a beauty to the films Takeshi Kaneshiro stars in, or at least to the two films I've seen of him.
I don't like romance movies in the slightest and the movie he starred in itches the scratch of longing and yearning that I could never get from watching a cliched romance movie. Call me unhappy or bitter, but romance movies are borderline unrealistic, selling only fantasies.... And it's kinda off-putting to me. (๑•﹏•)
Well, the films I've seen so far with Takeshi Kaneshiro are "Lost and Found— directed by Lee Chi-Ngai" and "Perhaps Love— directed by Peter Chan". Both have a love triangle, but instead of romanticizing it, it conveys how a real person would react to it. Not with intensity, but calmly...
Oh yeah... They have a very calm vibe to them that I like. Oh boy oh boy, I can't wait to talk about other old films I've accidentally come across. (≧▽≦)(≧▽≦)(≧▽≦)
I've accidentally come across Lost and Found on YouTube when it was recommended to me. I was bored, and so I decided to watch it.... And that was how I entered the Takeshi Kaneshiro film's rabbit hole. Takeshi Kaneshiro especially because from what I've heard, he never really gets the typical happy ending. It sounds bleak, I know, but also comforting. Cause real life doesn't always go as planned :/... But maybe I'm just projecting.
I've postponed watching any of his movies right now cause I've been watching Gintama... And Dragon Balls hehe.... ( ╹▽╹ )
I might... *Might* do an in-depth review (of what I think) about every single film, anime, manga, and novel that I came across. I don't know, I'm lazy though... And I'm not very good with words. So, time will tell when I do.
I am so sorry to keep doing this, but I just have a few things to get off my chest and to say.
I've been moving a little slower lately, and I'm trying to be okay with that. But, I think it's fair to let the folks who have been so supportive during Papyton week and of my writing know what's up.
I have a small bump on my left wrist that's making it a little bit difficult to type. As someone who's a long time writer and artist, I'm not sure exactly what it is, but it's painful as shit when it knocks against my keyboard.
My anxiety and paranoia about it are getting worse. So, I'm getting it looked at. As far as I know, it's benign, and I can wait until the couple of theater projects I'm working on are done to have any kind of treatment done for it. It's triggering a lot of my mental health issues as well which have been, for lacking a better term, bad.
I'm doing about as well as I can given the circumstances. I'm surviving. I'm safe. Family is good. The squish is the highlight of my life. Having a routine with them keeps my feet on the ground. Firmly planted.
I'm a little sad. Sometimes I drift a little "up" (I've been doing a ridiculous amount of cooking and baking, and I may or may not have bought more Capri Sun than is *strictly* necessary to function.) However, my partner is great and has been helping to remind me to rest my body when I can, to shower, to take care of myself, and all that good stuff. He's also great about helping me with the spending and potential over-doing it in other areas. So, again, I'm well cared for (and well medicated, praise the Lord.)
Capri Suns are about the worst thing I'm gonna do - scout's honor. ;)
That said, the cyst makes me type slower. And, the anxiety triggered pendulum of emotions has kind of been preoccupying. If y'all ever wondered why I write Mettaton's mood swings and his mental states so accurately, it's because I live it.
I'm not planning to put things on hiatus (or at least not a long one). It just might take me longer to finish things because my typing speed and thinking speed are a little slower than I'd like them to be.
If things end up in a worst case and I do end up being sicker than I think, I'll post another update with hiatus info at that time. But, I appreciate you all, and any love, well wishes, and good vibes you have to send my way. (I need them.)
My father had one favorite orchid before he died, and he always planted 'She' in the garden. Now finally I can understand why he's such loving "Her"- orchid (Paphiopedilum) and Paphiopedilum, often called the Venus slipper, is a genus of the lady slipper orchid subfamily Cypripedioideae of the flowering plant family Orchidaceae. "愛也許是/Perhaps Love" by JOHN DENVER & PLACIDO DOMINGO
作詞/作曲:John Denver
Perhaps love is like a resting place
A shelter from the storm
It exists to give you comfort
It is there to keep you warm
And in those times of trouble
When you are most alone
The memory of love will bring you home
Perhaps love is like a window
Perhaps an open door
It invites you to come closer
It wants to show you more
And even if you lose yourself
And don't know what to do
The memory of love will see you through
Oh, love to some is like a cloud
To some as strong as steel
For some a way of living
For some a way to feel
And some say love is holding on
And some say letting go
And some say love is everything
And some say they don't know
Perhaps love is like the ocean
Full of conflict, full of pain
Like a fire when it's cold outside
Or thunder when it rains
If I should live forever
And all my dreams come true
My memories of love will be of you
And some say love is holding on
And some say letting go
And some say love is everything
And some say they don't know
Perhaps love is like the ocean
Full of conflict, full of pain
Like a fire when it's cold outside
Or thunder when it rains
If I should live forever
And all my dreams come true
My memories of love will be of you
Part of the larger Perhaps Love ‘verse, but can be read as a standalone.

A sweet, indulgent Sunday morning with Jack, full of touching and teasing and sweetness.
Warnings: Skin time.
Word count: 1k
You woke slowly, warm and comfortable. For a moment, you wondered why you'd even woken - you were still basically ready to go right back to sleep. And then you felt it again, fingertips trailing slowly up your spine. The touch was gentle, casual, his skin warm against yours.
"Mornin', beautiful," Jack murmured, the words low and sleep-rough.
You grumbled something untranslatable and nestled in closer. You were sprawled half across his chest, skin to skin.
"I need to get up, darlin'."
You whined at those words, curling up tighter against him, as if you could keep him there through sheer stubbornness. "It's Sunday," you croaked. "You don't have anywhere to be."
"I need to let Daisy out," Jack told you. His hand swept up your back again, slow and gentle. Just on time, Daisy scratched at the bedroom door with a pitiful whimper.
You huffed. You were warm and comfortable and didn't want to move. In fact, you wanted to go back to sleep.
But Daisy did need to go out before she made a mess.
"Fine," you grumbled, opening one eye to roll off of Jack. You shivered, landing in a cold section of sheets. Jack got up quickly, leaning down to kiss your forehead. He grabbed a clean pair of boxers and watched in amusement as you rolled back into his warm spot.
"I'll be back in a tic," he told you. He opened the bedroom door and slipped out, shutting it again quietly.
And then you were alone in that big bed, cuddled into the warm spot Jack had left behind.
You grumbled again, something unintelligible, and got comfy. The blanket was tugged up to your chin to keep you warm. As the days got shorter, the mornings got cooler. Which you didn't mind so much when you had your personal space heater with you. But when it was just you in bed… well, the blankets became necessary again.
True to his word, Jack wasn't gone long. You heard him rustling around, heard the gentle thwump of fabric hitting the floor, felt him lift the blanket behind you. You shivered as cold air invaded your warm bubble, but you didn't even have time to complain before Jack was sliding in, pressing himself against your back from shoulders to knees. His skin once again pressed to yours, and you sighed in contentment.
It was odd, you mused in that hazy not-quite-awake-not-quite-asleep state. You'd never felt like this with other people. Oh, sure, you were a bit of a cuddle bug, well known for hugging your friends and cuddling through movies. You'd enjoyed snuggles with previous partners. But never like this. Never even close to anything like this. All of him pressed close against all of you, with not a stitch to separate the two of you.
It was just Jack. Just him.
So, odd, yes, but thoroughly enjoyable. You yawned and cuddled back into his chest, your eyes already sliding closed against your will as the heat of him seeped into your skin. Your blinks were getting longer each time. You felt him press a kiss to the top of your head, whispering something you didn't quite catch but that made you smile anyway, and then your eyes closed again.
When you woke next, you were alone in bed. Again. You rolled over, but Jack's side was cool. He'd clearly been up for a little while already, then.
That was about when you registered the singing, off-key but it still made you smile. That was definitely Jack.
Heaving a sigh, you rolled out of bed and visited the en suite. You very briefly considered going out naked, but. Cold wet dog nose. Nevermind. You pulled on one of Jack's tshirts instead and a pair of shorts.
Jack's back was to you as he stood at the stove, still singing along to music from the speaker on the counter. The heavy cast iron pan sizzled gently as he added what smelled like pancake batter, and you spotted a small stack of pancakes to one side already. Daisy was sitting watching every move Jack made, just in case she got lucky.
"Morning," you greeted, walking over to him. You'd debated just sneaking up behind him to hug him, but decided not to while he was cooking.
"Well, look who finally rejoined the land of the living," Jack teased, half turning to grin at you, eyes warm and sparkling with mirth. "Mornin', beautiful."
"Guess I needed the sleep." You burrowed into Jack's side, grinning in triumph when he lifted his arm to give you better access. Your arms wound around his waist, loosely keeping hold of him.
"Have you been sleepin' poorly again, sugar?"
"Only some nights." You huffed. "Stop worrying."
"You're not looking at me."
"I can feel you worrying, I don't need to see you."
He huffed a little laugh at that and kissed the top of your head. "Alright," he conceded. "But it's my job to take care of you, sugar."
"I know, but clearly I'm fine. And I slept in today. No need to worry."
Jack made a noise acknowledging your point before he flipped the pancakes and changed the subject. "You hungry?"
"I could eat," you agreed.
"Good. Thought pancakes sounded good this morning."
"They smell good."
"Grab us plates and utensils?"
You left the warmth of Jack's side rather reluctantly, grabbing plates and forks and knives. Then you got out the butter and the maple syrup.
Breakfast was quiet, but the easy kind of quiet. The kind that neither of you felt the need to break, comfortable and familiar. Daisy did not get any table scraps this time, much to her disappointment.
The morning passed with the kind of quiet contentment you didn't get to enjoy as often as you liked. Washing up after breakfast was liberally sprinkled with kisses that ranged from chaste and sweet to downright dirty and open-mouthed. But no more than that.
And when you found yourself nodding off against Jack's chest, where you were curled up on his lap to enjoy a movie, you couldn't help but smile.
Best way to spend a Sunday. Hands down. You closed your eyes, pressing your cheek to his bare shoulder, and drifted off to the comforting thu-thump under your ear.
