myotis are small brown/black bats with generally darker skin than fur, with small-ish round ears **note: you don't need to distinguish between myotis, eptesicus, and parastrellus

oh for sure, I much prefer the metric system in everything, and america’s only holding out because its a weird notion of independence-slash-stubbornness 

but it’s also interesting to tell people that all measurements are essentially just arbitrary and we agreed to them, and it’s kind of a form of language more than an innate feature of the world 

kilometers are basically just a more advanced version of the way people reference locations as being “well you’re halfway to the store when you pass the taco shop”, just on the big rock we live on
