Me: *appreciating the Dan and Dr. Madden moment in Light* He still cares about her even after all that happened.
Sister: *ignoring casting or production limitations and overall storytelling efficiency* I think the reason why Dan reaches out to Dr. Madden about Diana instead of her parents is because they won't talk to him. They're harboring some resentment towards Dan; convinced that their daughter's condition worsened while they were together and that she almost died because of him.
