So I said this already on twitter, but eumagerd, James & Peregrine in last night’s ep of Ms Fisher’s Modern Murder Mysteries! I am so invested ! They were so bloody adorable! I can’t with the “rroarw” that James did when he was under the influence of the Truth serum, and then (spoiler) THE KISS - I’m dead!
And then Peregrine testing his memory, and their little date, and James scaring her with UFO tricks - WHAT A DORK! Also Peregrine running around pretending to be a tea lady, and Margaret joining the Adventure Club! Heck yes!
You know I went into this show seeing the ads and thinking nah, I’m not watching this if it’s not Phryne, but I LOVE Peregrine, she’s basically me, and also, may I just say, her fashion sense, intuition, wit, sass, bravery, and feminism, and the fact that she’s embodying Phryne with her own flare ofc, I just wish we had more than four episodes with her.
Ok, also shout out to Birdie because I love her too (the whistling with Phryne, protecting her brother Sam, being distraught over Cecile), and also Violetta and Sam being all cute and trying to keep their relationship secret, but also it being so obvious, and nobody having a problem with them - I OTP.
And James’ boss actually helping him get into the army lab, and sticking his neck out for his detective - I stan this - but I do not stan his corrupt ass, he’s still dodge af. Oh, and the police lady had so many lines, I love her! Hope to see her more in ep 4. Safe to say, I’m invested af and after the finale next week, I’m rewatching Phryne because there’s still months until the Crypt of Tears comes out, and I need to fill the void.
