In a powerful statement delivered at the Security Council meeting on “Maintenance of peace and security of Ukraine” on Apr. 11, 2024, Ambassador Sergíy Kyslytsya, the Permanent Representative of Ukraine at the UN, condemned Russia’s aggression and revealed the harrowing reality faced by Ukrainians.
Kyslytsya highlighted Russia’s abandonment of attempts to justify its aggression, openly declaring its goal: the complete annihilation of the Ukrainian state, people, and identity. He pointed out the hypocrisy of Russia’s claims of liberation while targeting civilian infrastructure and employing tactics reminiscent of Nazi atrocities.
