Well-- I put Elemental on the back burner to focus on other projects-- but then I ran through the project again with a couple friends and really nailed down some ideas that were left up in the air. Upon processing those, Elemental Copper got yet another huge redesign!
As transition metals age (iron, copper, etc), or oxidize, their colors change. Think of iron rusting, or copper turning from its classic vibrant orange to that beautiful old copper green. So what if Transition Metal Elementals had something similar? When Elemental Copper first transforms, her color palette compliments that vibrant orange. But over time, when she keeps spending energy, her color palette will start to shift into that coppery green.
I had a blast digging through Pinterest for more steampunk inspiration, and a much easier time playing with a simpler color palette. Also, I gave her the big top hat back! I missed it. I want to experiment a bit more with the details, but I'm very happy with where we're at now.
