Cactus Mouse Peromyscus eremicus
Found in the southwestern United States and northern Mexico. Compared to other Peromyscus species, cactus mice have a lower metabolism. This is thought to be an adaptation to arid environments, and maintained by lower activity of the thyroid gland. They may enter torpor when deprived of food in the winter, and food and/or water in the summer.

Slevin's Mouse Peromyscus slevini
It is endemic to Isla Santa Catalina off the east coast of Baja California Sur, an island with an area of about 40 km2 (15 sq mi), and it is the only native mammal on the island. The species is threatened by competition with the introduced Northern Baja deer mouse, which was probably introduced by local fishermen.

Pinyon Mouse Peromyscus truei
A large-eared mouse found in the southwestern United States and Baja California. They prefer rocky slopes and pinyon–juniper woodland. They are notorious at caching their food supply, and cache networks around their den sites can become quite extensive.

Eva's Desert Mouse Peromyscus eva
Found only in the southern part of the Baja California peninsula in Mexico. Within this region, it inhabits scrubland habitats below dominated by plants such as cholla, Jatropha, and organ-pipe cactus, and in agricultural land.

They are found only on Montserrat Island off the east coast of Baja California Sur, Mexico. The species is threatened by predation by feral cats.
