Ryou had never been terribly bothered by living alone, but he had to admit, it was a touch odd having a supposed roommate that he’d never met before. All evidence pointed to there being another person sharing townhouse 206, and yet by chance, he had yet to run into them. Their schedules just didn’t seem to ever match up.
“Really now, host. I would’ve expected you’d be used to having an unseen roommate.”
“You’re different.” The spirit’s insistence upon calling him host and his descriptions of granting his “wishes” as paying “rent” certainly brought to mind the idea of roommates or tenants, but Ryou didn’t consider their arrangement anywhere near as amicable as that. “If anything, you’re more of a freeloader.”
“Heh.” The spirit didn’t seem too bothered- but a sudden change in his mood drew Ryou’s attention. “It looks like we’ve got a visitor.”
“What are you- ah.” Ryou cleared his throat when he saw a child standing in the common area of the townhouse, ignoring the spirit’s laughter as Ryou began mentally fumbling for something to say. This was either going to be the start of a horror movie or his mystery roommate, but he decided to hope it’d be the latter. “S-Sorry, I was just... thinking aloud. My name is Ryou Bakura- do you live here as well? I just moved in recently.”
