Kay | Dark Elf/Drow | 10 years old | D&D 5E OC

She's back!

Since her last time in Spirale, Kay's grown a year older, and a few inches taller. She's 10 now!

Trained to be a thief from the day she was born, Kay is a talented pickpocket and Grade A mischief maker.

She's got a knack for finding trouble, and a talent for ending up in places she shouldn't be.

Because she's a drow, Kay can't be out in the sunlight without getting a wicked sunburn; luckily, she usually carries a parasol!

Endlessly curious, and asks a lot of questions.

She is just a little creachur. She cannot change this.

"i wouldn't head through there, if i were you!"

a quick warning, made louder by the hand at the side of his mouth to carry his words farther. already had someone been witnessed going through the very door warned against, their leave resulting in muffled, yet heavy, gunfire. only silence followed them afterwards.

there was no desire to watch that play out a second time. especially not when newfound company was far younger than the last poor soul.

"unless ya make a habit of becomin' swiss cheese, ya might wanna reroute yourself, kiddo." and not to worry, he comes with a recommendation.

one that brings forth the showing of a keycard, stored away in the depths of his sleeves. it had been pocketed a fair bit earlier, catching the bowman's eye in a previous room. glad he kept it with him, because it looks like he found the very reader it was meant for! how convenient.

Kay skids to a halt at the door, ears swiveling as if bracing for an attack—phew, nothing yet. It's been a long, annoying stretch of rooms; fight after fight. It's a relief to be spared another one... assuming she'd have made it out at all. She turns to her would-be savior, ear flicking in curiosity.

"Thanks." Turning from her previous path, she glances at the one he suggested.

"My dad says that locked doors always have the best stuff behind them," she grins, trotting up to his side to eye the keycard. "After all, you only lock a door if there's somethin' good to protect, right?"

Before he can open the door, she readies her grip on her staff; weak spells are better than no spells, after all, and she's not about to let this guy fight whatever's on the other side by himself.

"Of course... it could be more murder robots, too. Think your luck's any good, mister?"

"There's like a bajillion of those guys out there." Kay peeks out the door, quickly ducking back in before she can be spotted. The supply closet had been a convenient hiding spot, but... unfortunately it only has one exit.

"I've only got weak spells, I don't think I can take a whole hallway full of 'em," she frowns. "What about you?"

"Are you hurt, ma'am? I found a first-aid kit in one of the rooms, so I've got..." she looks through the kit. "Um. Bandages and stuff."

...she's quickly realizing she doesn't entirely know how to use all the stuff in a first-aid kit. Maybe having it on hand will be helpful if this lady needs it, though. Luckily, Kay hasn't gotten more than a scratch or two, but those weird robots really aren't messing around.

"I haven't seen any of the robots near this room, but I dunno about anything up ahead." She looks over at the other lady; even if they can't stay long, at least there's space to take somewhat of a breather.

"Do you think the exit is close by? I'm getting real tired of running around..."

Oh, finally a familiar face! When the door opened, Kay half-expected to see another robot... which would be unfortunate, given she's putting all her might into beating up the machine in front of her.

"Frye! Over here!" Kay flags her friend down, rolling out of the way of another laser blast to get behind cover.

"Um, do you have any idea how to take this thing? Or sneak past? Or do you think we should make a run for it?"

"Hey! Get away from her!" Kay's scorching ray might be weak, but it's enough to send a nearby robot staggering back; at least long enough for her to then whack it with the metal end of her staff.

Kay offers a hand up to the rather colorful girl it had been attacking. "Are you OK to run? Because, uh..." she looks over to the mechanical turret, which had started to re-orient itself in a shower of sparks.

"...I think maybe I made it mad, and we should hurry and get out of here!"

"Are you OK? That was really close..." Kay just barely managed to dodge the robot's laser blast as she entered the room. Luckily, this stranger seems to be OK, too. They're not out of the woods yet, though; she can still hear the metallic whirring of nearby machines.

She peeks over the lab table they're hidden behind, and quickly ducks back down.

"There's still like, three of those guys between us and the door," she frowns. "Do... you think we can sneak past? Or do we gotta attack 'em somehow?"

She's uncapped, but uh oh! her spells are nerfed! She has a proficiency with illusion magic, but most of her illusions are small now, or can only be used a few times a day.

Kay vc: hey i worked hard for those

Still, she can probably turn invisible long enough to sneak past a robot or two, or provide a small distraction.

Not immune to running up and hitting things with her staff if she runs out of spells.

She'd much prefer stealth to combat whenever possible, though. Even without her magic, she's pretty sneaky.

The bright lights are probably hurting her eyes, too...

Will always stop and help others in need if she runs into them.
