One of the best parts of Mon Mothma crashing out on the dance floor at her teenage daughter's wedding is that her husband, a notorious hedonist and funseeker whose whole speech to his daughter and son-in-law is about recognizing that life is difficult and seeking the pain and joy whenever you can, is surprised and worried about her.

What happens to Perrin after the fall of the empire? Will Kleya get to see the sunrise she and her father fought so hard for? Does Bix ever find out what Cassian ends up doing for the rebellion? What happens to Dedra or all the other Imperial prisoners? Where is Wil during Rogue One? How does the rebellion, how does Mon, deal with the loss of Alderaan and Bail?

Did anyone else notice that Leida had one braid that had been shortened already, even before the wedding ceremony?

It seems like Chandrilan marriage customs involve one of the bride's two braids being cut off to symbolize a betrothal, and the second being cut off to match by the groom during the marriage ceremony.

Leida’s father liked to go hunting, and he always ended up getting in heaps more kills than the holiday-operators suggested one might in the advertisements. Her parents fought about it because her mother said it was a dreadful habit, barbaric, going to all those hot jungley places like that with no intentions but to kill, and he said he’d done so because she’d like it, wasn’t she always wishing him gone, what with her leaving all her cosmetics on the counters and coming up with some rubbish about a headache every time he tried to start something real?

He wanted to hang all his prizes in the parlour but her mother objected and said such things were in bad taste, so he had to hang all the stuffed rathtars and krayt-dragon heads in the room where he met his lad friends in the holiday-villa.

Leida went to the animal room in the villa when he felt like teaching her to play sabbac and cheat at sabac and take liquor, straight because there weren’t any boys in the family for him to teach such things too. Leida liked the attention but she hated going to the room because it smelled odd, like old people and things in jars, and also because it was where her father brought his secret lady friends, whose knickers Leida periodically discovered when she rummaged around looking for the sabbac counter she’d dropped in the thick Wampa-skin carpets. There were also a lot of glass eyes which belonged to the animals on the wall. Sometimes when they’d had a few her father and his friends played games where they tossed rings around the horns and snouts of the things mounted on the walls. 

Leida’s mother hated the dead animals but what she really hated were the games. Is your father playing with his stuffed animals again? her mother asked, after she’d been returned to the flat in Coruscant, which was also filled with glass eyes, although these glass eyes belonged to the picture-frames and chair-legs and the buttons of her mother’s new holo-scribe’s coat-cuffs, and these eyes took recordings. Leida’s father was always at the holiday-villa and her mother never was. 

I like them, Leida said, and blew bubbles in her drink. 

Really, dear, you don’t have to like for him to be fond of you, her mother said. Did any of your carers see the list I sent them about the sun-cream and daily vitamins? 

Leida’s other liked to go hunting as well but it was people she hunted, not animals. She didn’t have anything to hang up on her walls and she also didn’t have any kills like Leida’ss father because she liked everything to be just-so. There was a proper way to apply lip-liner, to pour a glass of wine, to fold napkins and place them at a ninety-degree angle to the second fish knife. She said, Leida, pay attention, she said Leida, I wish you’d listen, it might be important someday. Leida thought she listened plenty. Leida’s mother told people that weren’t Leida that there was a war on but there was no war. Everyone was perfectly happy and Leida had just gotten a good mark on her geography examination. Her mother said that too. Leida’s mother said she’d buy her a brilliant blue dress for her party and when the dressmaker arrived the dress in the zippy black bag was green. Her mother said, put it on for the party, it’s the dress you asked for. The dressmaker said, I didn’t know what size to make it, I didn’t know what sort of woman you’d become. Leida said, I wanted a blue dress, and her mother said, that’s the dress you ordered, it’s very important to me that you wear it. 

At the party there were heaps of people who weren’t there for Leida and they all knelt at her mother’s feet because it was her mother that was king. They asked about the fleet and her mother threw her head back and laughed about the philharmonic, which had a composition they all out to enjoy while it was still playing this season. Leida’s mother was a king which also meant she said things about acceptable degree of collateral damage adn number of ships ready to launch. Leida’s mother was lying to Leida that there wasn’t a war and lying to all these people that there was one, but from all the talk Leida knew she was planning to go to the war, she was planning to die for it. 

She said, I remain here only so long as I can suitably help the cause, Bail, and she said, Cassian, I know how entirely selfish of me it must sound to say that I know something of imprisonment myself, but here I have no escape, and she said, I plan I plan I’m planning, but she never said what she planned to do with Leida.

im rewatching andor and Perrin just got introduced and he really is (at least in his intro scene) so compliant in everything. like hes the kind of person to say "well i wouldn't stop being friends with someone over politics" and still hang out with people who kill and take the rights of others away simply because theyre fun. thats not even subtext, thats just the text. i have more thoughts brewing about him, but its people like that who led us the galaxy into the situation we're they're in at the time of andor. like yes, palplatine had this huge evil plan but he (like our real life politicians) used the complacancy of the masses to bring about facism

the more i rewatch star wars, especially things before ANH, the more i see the situation we're in
