an info-dump

I’m just gonna start sticking my info-dump type stuff here because I don’t know who enjoys it and who doesn’t (social cues are hard), so if you’re interested, read more under the cut. 

I feel like crap because I wonder if I’m annoying people talking about this. I dumped my Invictus translation on a friend at the wrong time and wasn’t listening to what they needed. I am currently trying to not feel like crap, so I’m putting my thoughts here instead of crying about them and beating myself up further. 

Self love is a hard thing to put into practice and it’s definitely something to be worked towards. Sometimes I just have to default back to “would I say this to a friend? Would I say this to a stranger?”. This choice to beat myself up or not is a major factor in whether or not I go into a downward sad spiral or I talk myself out of it. It’s incredibly hard to do, especially right now. I keep remembering this phrase that popped into my brain earlier today. 

“Shai'eíne khailelye shai'phekhe khane.” 

“Things of beauty are struggles to win.”

I made a brief post about this phrase about 8 hours ago. I was talking to my friend about Ancient Greek and the Greek phrase for “beautiful things are difficult to obtain” came up. I knew I had to have it in Síne, so into Síne it went. Self love and self respect are things of beauty. They are also difficult to obtain. They’re still worth aiming for, though.
