[Kind of just freestyle today. I used to have a really great core routine but I am very rusty. I'm also still acclimatting to a busy gym. My old gym had few visitors during my workouts. I was less insecure about being observed and able to experiment with the equipment. Worrying everyone is looking at my dick makes working out very stressful.]
I'm kind of proud of myself right now. I went to the doctor today and as always, they took my weight. It had been a while since I had been weighed, either by myself or my doctor, so I was really anticipating what it would say.
My weight went up. Usually, I really beat myself mentally and emotionally when that happens, feeling embarrassed and guilty and wondering how I could let myself get like this. Mind you, I wasn't worried about my looks--personally, I'm starting to actually think I'm pretty cute, now that I'm learning how to love myself and take care of myself--but I'm always worried about my health.
But today I didn't get to that point. I looked at the number, jotted it down in my mind, and accepted it for what it is. I reminded myself that I've had a rough couple of weeks, and my physical health really reflected that, my weight included. I reminded myself that it isn't too late to change my health--I'm overweight, but have yet to experience heart or blood pressure problems. I can still turn this around. And I'm still doing better than I was this time last year.
My weight might have gone up a bit, but so did my love for myself. So I'm going to try to keep loving and supporting myself on my health journey with the knowledge that I'm a cutie patootie, I'm capable, and I'm worth the effort and time it takes to turn my health around.
Progress Report
Left is January 2021, right is September 2021
It was too nice not to get out for a bit! It's been gorgeous all week, which is reflected in the fact that i already have twice as many active minutes than I did last week and it's only Wednesday!
I do this trail woth Dominick a few times a week because it's the perfect length with some good hills, but I want to work on keeping my heart rate up so I put a 6lb medicine ball in my pack and that did the trick!
Even though I was only out for a bit a ton piled up so I'm glad to be in a mindset to tackle it all. Still prpbably gonna row later but it's not quiiiiiite as crucial, might just rest if that's what my body actually needs, I'll be extra attentive after dinner.
Hi friends👋🏻
I’ve been a little MIA for the past week and a half because of life and needing a major social media detox.
So here’s what’s been up👇🏻
💥 I GOT A NEW JOB😱🤯 I was not expecting that to happen at all. A company reached out to me with an offer and I really couldn’t refuse! So yay for new challenges to come!
💥 I took a break from strength training and focused on a lot of low impact walking and yoga to give my body a bit of a break.
💥 I decided to get back into an old hobby of mine with photography📸 I stopped when I started working two jobs since I barely had time to sleep let alone do anything else.
💥 I spent a lot of time with family!
Well that’s pretty much everything! I am super excited to be back and mentally and physically ready to crush some goals!
Remember, it’s ok to take breaks and not always be “ON” all the time. Sometimes you need a week to get yourself back into a healthy, beneficial, and productive state!
What have you been up to lately?
