quick kk timeline more for my personal reference i guess:
3yrs: his mother, hatake miyuki, dies on an assignment tracking some missing nin
4yrs: sakumo’s mission ‘mysteriously’ goes tits up, kicking off the third shinobi war
5yrs: graduates from the academy early and gets put under minato’s tutelage
6yrs: chunin promotion & two months later his dad kills himself
8yrs: put on a team with rin and obito, who are presumably a little older, and starts developing chidori. normal shit for an eight year old to develop an assassination jutsu
9yrs: jounin promotion, obito dies, sharingan implanted
11yrs: third shinobi war ends
12yrs: he kills rin on accident, gets shunted into anbu because adults don’t know how to make any decisions at all and minato is no exception
13yrs: put on kushina’s protection detail while she’s pregnant
14yrs: minato and kushina die like two weeks after his bday, naruto is born
15yrs: he joins root and then gets it “shut down”, he’s promoted to captain, finds kinoe/tenzo, and almost demoted but then gets promoted to captain instead
16yrs: tenzo, 13, defects fully from danzo and kakashi pulls strings to get assigned to team ro, working under him
