The progression of needing to make a phone call to my family

1) Oh hey, my birthparents sent me a gift card for a late Christmas present!

2) I need to call them to say thanks. Oh crap. Oh crap oh hell oh shithellcraphelldamnhellshiiiiiiii-

3) Okay, okay, it’s just a phone call. I love them! They love me! Why am I panicking! I don’t know! I’ll do it tonight, when they’re probably going to be home.

4) Whoops, forgot to do it tonight. And I work for the next two days and don’t get back until late, so I’ll do it on the weekend!

5) It’s the weekend, but they’re most likely to both be at home on Sunday night, so I’ll call them Sunday night.

6) I forgot to call them Sunday night. And now I work late the next few days, so I’ll just call them on my days off!

7) WHOOPSIE DOOPSIE FORGOT TO CALL THEM ON MY DAYS OFF AND I WORK ALL WEEKEND I’ll just call them on my Monday off.

8) It’s Monday. Uhhhhh I’ll call them at night, they’ll probably be home then.

9) It’s night. It’s around dinnertime where they are, should probably just play pokemon for an hour to give them time to finish dinner.

Updates

I kind of feel like I got a stay of execution there. I’ve been working my schedule around the metabods update to sort of give me a decent timeframe and some concrete deadlines to work with since they generally make it easier to focus, and I was up til 6 am trying to get a fic ready for the site only to realize that the bi-weekly update has been postponed til next week. Believe it or not that’s a huge relief to me because I wasn’t satisfied at all with how the story I pushed out came along. I’ve got another week to re-work it, and I can already tell I’m going to need it. 

Writing has been incredibly hard for me this past week. I just have no focus, and I am sure it has a lot to do with being off my meds for over a month now. I’m really not supposed to be off them for even a day let alone a month, but my insurance got canceled on me so I have not had health insurance since January. I’ve kind of been given the runaround in getting my insurance reinstated because no one was really sure why it was canceled in the first place. I have the state plan which adds another middleman into the process which makes it a huge headache. Basically what happened is I sent in my paperwork to get another year of health insurance and that all went through fine, and the state uses a third party to check earnings that the people who enroll for the plan claim, and somehow the state got the paperwork from the third party tax center but forgot to file it so it was showing that that paperwork was never sent. Eventually I managed to get that sorted out and the state office apologized for the mistake and said they would reinstate my policy “instantly” (and then told me it would take as much as 2 weeks to take effect). 3 weeks pass and I still haven’t heard anything so I call them up and ask what the deal is, and they somehow forgot to send the paperwork in to the actual insurance provider. After I hounded them again they tell me it will be dealt with in three days max. A few days pass and I try to fill my prescriptions since I have been out for a while, and the prescription people say that I still don’t have coverage. I dealt with the state again and they were adamant that it wasn’t their fault this time, so I go to deal with the insurance provider and they insist I do already have coverage. I go back and forth with them and the pharmacy to see what the deal is, and finally we realize that somehow the Insurance people reinstated my health insurance, but forgot to activate my prescription plan. So I had insurance, but my insurance didn’t cover meds. 

Anyway it seems to finally be sorted. My pharmacy plan has been reinstated and now I am hopefully going to be getting back on medications tonight. I just hope I haven’t been off them so long that I have once again begun to reject them because a week of puking while my body adjusted to them the first time is not something I want to repeat. but even if it does make me sick it’ll definitely be better than sleeping 14 hours a day and always feeling groggy and lightheaded so there’s that.
