Haiku with the theme “journeys”. This set of haiku comes from my heart as I try to navigate this conservative town. I pray things turn out for the better.
Transitions take time. Conjuring up my courage To be free as me.
This one speaks on a personal level. I want to be free. I want to break from so many norms and standards that society has placed on us all. In my journey, I also hope that others get inspired to break their norms as well.
My fem transition Is ironically quite a Herculean task. People would tell me “You will never be a man,” And I’d enjoy it.
There is irony in everything we do, and this set of haiku takes that to another level.
Tell or not to tell? My fate hangs on the question. My decision counts. It’s time this hard shell I’ve been living inside of Finally gives way. No longer a “want”. It is a desperate need. It’s hard but I must.

Means another seven bucks
Spent on womanhood.
It may not have frills,
But it’s the sheer thought that counts.
I adore this thing.
It has nice sayings,
Like, “be silly, be honest”.
It’s a darling dress.
Transitioning woes:
Waiting to take estrogen?
Prepare to wait months.
Shopping for clothing?
All brands have their own sizing.
It’s a massive mess.
