Why I got married on June 21st

June 21st in the witchcraft and pagan world is known as Midsummer or Summer Solstice. This day has been known for love, sexuality and fertility. The history for this being wedding season was quite interesting. As said by Donna Hennes whom is an Urban Shaman, “In ancient times, when we didn't have light and heat indoors or stores where we could buy food, winter was a bare, cold and very hard time. If your baby was born in the beginning of winter, it had a much less chance of survival. It became a tradition to have mating season around the solstice so your child would be born in early spring instead. This is where the June wedding legacy comes from." For me this was extremely personal for my husband and I for we are trying for a baby. I am the pagan one in the marriage and this day is one of the most magical time of year in my opinion over Beltane. This is when the flowers have blossomed and around the world this day is celebrated. Midsummer is the holiday for lovers and “finding the one”. I could not have chosen a better day to marry the love of my life. Getting married on such a magical is beautiful.

you guys remember like three days ago when i asked y’all for hexes for my co-worker?

so...i did research but didn’t do anything yet because i’m still a newbie and i was still deciding if i just wanted to make my own spell/hex so i haven’t done anything yet.

two days later, my friend and co-worker (not the jerkoff) texts me and tells me that the one i didn’t like is supposedly quitting...and he hasn’t been to work the rest of the week.

i didn’t do anything but i don’t believe it’s a coincidence. God/Goddess/my Ancestors/the Universe got me. i still don’t know if he’s gone for certain, but...

So I was practicing  a self-defense move with my mum,

and I kind of messed up at one point and did a whole 360 spin, but still got loose of her grip, and I gave her this odd look and she did the same and I said, ‘Honestly I would do that, then kick them right in the groin with a pirouette’ (I don’t even know any ballet so I said that for laughs) and she started laughing and said that’d I’d scare them off (the attacker) and I stated that something like ‘that would happen to me’, and proceed to say something about giving the ol’ razzle dazzle.

Thoughts on Fall and the clearing for renewal.

After the several days leading up to Samhain and on the say its self, my cards kept throwing at me things like Death, The Hanged Man, and many more.  I finally contacted an old friend with whom I had drifted apart from. I’m not sure I’ll know why any time soon. Part of the reason we drifted was they would answer no questions from me.

The theme of this year has been letting go, of my grandmother, of friends who haven’t reached back, or attachments to physical things.  I haven’t been perfect by any means. But clearing this away has let me sow a lot of new potential, and I look forward to being able to take my harvest of letting go this year and turn it to establishing myself in the next year.

So here is to more practice, and more of this crazy journey we call life.
