trying not to sink into feeling shitty about myself as i look back at last year so instead i will focus on a few things i did in 2021 that i’m actually proud of

the big one!! the thing i’ve avoided for quite literally 15 whole years!!!! i faced my medical phobia and got TWO shots (without fainting!!!!!). aside from actually doing the damn thing i’m proud of the fact that i took the initiative to ensure i was as prepared as i could be, and actually prioritized my own needs without feeling too ashamed of taking the steps i needed to take to get it done

i opened commissions again! i still can’t believe people actually want to see their characters in my art style! i finished 12 separate commissions last year which might not seem like a lot but it is for me! (i’m excited to open them again soon)

i also just in general made a lot of art that i’m really proud of. art was the Coping Mechanism Of Choice in 2021 and i really threw myself into it

i finally grew my nails out after a solid 20 years of tearing them down to the beds! i did unfortunately end up lapsing back into old habits at the end of the year so i’m starting from scratch again, but at least now i know the right tactics and i know i can do it!

i read two whole books (an improvement from last year’s zero)

i helped my aunt move off the farm. it was just. so physically and emotionally draining but we did it
