the bathroom is like a whole world when you're drunk

we use a swiffer with those disposable mop-covers right now, the ones that already come wet and covered in cleaning solution...i finished mopping the house and then dropped the whole fucking box on the floor. just an ocean of water and goo on the floor. why....

i couldn't be fucked to go put another cover on the mop just to clean it up, so i just got down on hands and knees with paper towels.

fiance and i met at work; we were coworkers, then friends, then lovers.

i quit that job eventually and he moved to a different department in that same building.

fiance is korean.

when we worked together, i witnessed our department supervisor telling him her theories that all korean people smell like kimchi, eat dogs, etc. insanely racist. he pushed back as much as he could without being labeled "difficult" or "rude." it was horrifying. that was just one incident of many.

today he was at an annual training and they talked about racism in the workplace. one of the organizers asked if anyone there had ever experienced stereotyping, and a white person raised their hand and said they felt stereotyped when they were told they experienced white privilege.

fiance didn't raise his hand, because...what's the fucking point.

copyediting is fun...

i'm doing some free copyediting exercises right now to figure out how much i need to learn before i can start selling my services...and i'm doing better than i thought! i definitely still need some more practice especially where editing for clarity is concerned, but i'm not totally off-base, either.

it's fun! and i think a job that lets me control my own timelines, environment, rates, services offered, etc is really the only option i have left atp (unless i stop working altogether, which is really not what i want).

i quit on my break today lol. my feet are murdered and my boss is unpleasant. i walked home and then texted her to tell her i was done. thank god.

as an anxious person, i do generally try to push myself a bit when i don't wanna do something...and i really did push myself. but i have hit a wall. time to be done. there's nothing to be gained from this that's worth me being in pain every day.

i was so soooo seasick on that boat lol
