The speckles of burnt orange & brown cover the vast canopy before me, the winds whistles past creating the illusion of the leaves sharing their deepest secrets, the birch trees creak although they do not move. The suns warm rays setting behind me, leaving me cold and alone. I continue to tread through the blanket of leaves, each crack unsettling me a little more than the one before, I turn back to my reassuring tent but what was where my tent once sat was now that eerie orange and brown mess, I hadn’t walked that far, had I?
