Could’ve Been Killed

“–Yeah, probably, but it would’ve been worth it,” to be fair, he’s not trying to distress anyone or anything. And honestly, they could all have been killed. How so many of them are still alive is the real question, because the moment this war started… Neville expected a lot more losses. Losses closer to home, at least. In a sense.
“You alright though? If you need to freak out some more, I’ll listen?”
Pansy turned furious eyes at him. She’d made her way out of the dungeons, defying everything in her that screamed at her to stay put, only to find Longbottom stalking the Carrows as they made their way down the third floor corridor. It had been a shocking and admirable sight, if she was honest. But she was Pansy Parkinson, and when had she ever been honest?
At the sound of his question, she slapped at his chest, “Of course I’m not alright, Longbottom!” she quite nearly shrieked, half out of relief to see that he wasn’t dead by the Carrow’s wand, again. “I can’t stand this. I can’t stand any of this!” She could hear the distant screams of the students undergoing Crucios during detention the Slytherins were forced to cast. She had so far managed to avoid that horrifying task.
