Rode bike for errands (pmuch always do this also gas-prices are spiking HARD right now)
Purchased some more corn and finished the planting for my roommate in the back yard.
Discovered how the 'Three Sisters' planting methodology works (gotta wait for the corn to come up about 6 inches before the squashes and polebeans go in)
Purchased some butternut squash seed (to plant later, as I learned)
Planted bushbeans and cabbage in the two new beds we added the other day
Updated the garden diagram
Learned when to transplant seedlings (they need about 4 non-temporary leaves)
Learned that the initial (usually two) leaves of newly sprouting plants are called 'cotyledons,' which are essentially temporary leaves evolved to help break through the soil and give the seedling an energetic foothold as it grows once its sprout reaches the surface. Cotyledons typically have a far different appearance from the plant's mature leaves. This is sometimes why seedlings' species are hard to differentiate early on.
Transferred some of the sprouting herbs and stuff into better trays
Learned about companion plants for cabbage (e.g. they like bushbeans but dislike polebeans as neighbors)
Succeeded in finally having the pest-inspector by so he could check the basement for termites and powderpost beetles. Having this done extended the house's warranty.
Took some photos of the garden so I actually have something to write my old man about
Caught up partially on harpoonkelpie
So the remaining sprouts could come up without problems, I was using an oldschool edger to break up the crust of topsoil in the existing beds and I cut one of the garden bean or cucumber seedings in half by accident ;A;
I keep forgetting to call the recycling place so we can cancel the pickup we've been subscribed to
