The Ice Sports Palace in Pervouralsk (pop. 125,000, in the Ural Mountains just west of Yekaterinburg), built in 1968. It is the home of one of Russia’s oldest women’s hockey teams, the Uralochka club (founded 1988); Pervouralsk has contributed a number of players to the Russian national team at Olympics and World Championships, including Yekaterina Smolentseva, Yuliya Leskina, Alexandra Kapustina, and others.
