Sadness Behind Smiles
While many would doubt it when looking at him, Beast Boy is no stranger to negativity plaguing his mind. He’d been through a lot in his life and it had certainly taken its toll on him.
Not that he would let anyone know.
Beast Boy was the optimist, the jokester, the goofball… He couldn’t ruin that by telling others how he felt. What would his friends think of him?
That is why, when he was made the butt of a joke earlier, he simply laughed with his friends.
He knew he was dumb. He made that clear on several occasions, whether it be through screw ups or making jokes about it himself.
That didn’t mean it never hurts him to think about.
Even so, he couldn’t allow himself to show it. That just wasn’t him. Instead, he simply played his handheld video game whilst resting on his bed, allowing himself to be lost in a fantasy while his negativity festered in the background.
