Decided to have some fun with the lioden wardrobe by attempting to base a design off of backgrounds. Think I’ll do holidays next!
This’ll be the first time my Lioden pride has ever seen the December event, so I’m excited to see when the snow-I mean, ‘snuh’ will start to appear.
I like to think Lioden takes place in some weird, made up place in Africa where all the wacky stuff happens. In lore the Wayfarers didn’t originally even inhabit that part of Lioden, it was only when Achaea’s mother left on her own that she found the landscape and decided to raise her son there.
Three generations traveling these lands and they’ve never seen snuh, then all of a sudden this white stuff starts piling up and the adults are absolutely terrified of this frozen water. Unatural. An omen of bad things to come. Bad tidings for all.
The cubs meanwhile, don’t care.
I do hope wolvden eventually has primal mutations like in Lioden but aside from the dire wolf they also have other primal variants based on say, the tomarctus or cynodictus.
Not only because this would be cool as heck, but also because its funny to think of a mama wolf introducing her newest litter like:
“And this is my last son, we don’t know why he looks like a weasel but I’m very proud of him regardless”
The Catacomb Scryers pack: A decently sized pack, reasonable, most of the members are just the offspring of Winona and Apollo mirroring real life wolves. The only exceptions are Bitsy and Soot, but they are the exceptions and not the rule. Even though they surround themselves with supernatural anomalies most of their behavior is grounded in reality. Somewhat.
Wayfarers Pride: Huge. I keep forgetting these lions names yet I struggle to chase any. Barely follow real lions in nature since some of the cubs aren’t even Catapa’s. My current and previous king have been hyperactive himbos and soon it’ll be three in a row.
With the unexpected loss of their previous king, the mourning pride finds themselves at a dilemma..Catalpa had died without choosing an heir.
After much discussion, the pride decided that they let Queen Nenet decide her mate’s successor once the mourning period had ended.
Upon being consoled by her loyal pride sisters during her bout of grief, Nenet would find the strength to come to a decision:
Clearwing, while being Catalpa’s son, was far too young and inexperienced to lead the Wayfarers. Azure on the other hand, had been in the pride for a long time. Though he was older, the queen had no doubt that he’d be able to protect them and their way of life.
And so, Azure ascended to the throne.
-------------------------
After much deliberation I finally decided that it was time for a new king. Catalpa was very near and dear to my heart, but I wanted to king Azure before he got too old.
Hope you like this little sprinkle of Wayfarers lore. Will there be more? Uhhh maybe.
I’ve been wanting to post some of my wolvden lore or at the very least make a den intro since most of my story and characters are stuck in my head unfortunately, but I told myself that I wasn’t going to do that until I could make a fake npc portrait of Winona to compliment it.
Turns out even while looking at references, Wolvden’s style is not easy to mimic!
