do you know where i could find any crinkley toys that arent marketed towards babies? im in the usa, and i tried just searching for "crinkle toys" on amazon and etsy but everything came up baby and personally id prefer not to buy things marketed that way if i can.
Everything came up baby made me laugh. Perfect phrasing!
Now, when I Googled “crinkle toys USA” out of curiosity, I got a mix of baby toys and pet toys. Some of it won’t be great for humans, and you may not be comfortable with this, either, but some of it was pretty fun, so I’ll include it for diligence as a researcher.
There’s cow plushies, more cow plushies (actually, a lot of the Ethical Pet stuff on Amazon looks stimmy in various ways), a whole section on crunchy and crinkly toys on Pet Mountain and a crinkle Nerf ball. A lot of the plushies linked really don’t look any different from any other toy, especially the high quality ones. But the same reasons people may not be comfortable with baby apply in the pet toy realm as well, if not even more so, so feel free to disregard this entire paragraph.
So the next thing I Googled was “crinkle stim toys”. Nothing but baby toys. I fared even less well on Etsy (nothing came up at all). “Crinkle fidget toy” got me only many, many listings for the crinkle-paper-stuffed ribbon-trimmed squares, and while many don’t look particularly babyish, the listings are targeted at babies and toddlers.
I know already that Stimtastic offers the crocheted stress ball ($2.50 USD). I have the Mind Games version I bought here in Australia, which is the same ball, and it’s awesome. I recommend it to anyone who loves the crinkle!
I also know that @caseydickdanger has made, in the past, plush toys containing crinkle paper, and I commend this ask to his attention. (There’s an example of his previous crinkly plushie bird reviewed here.) It might also be worthwhile asking @dragonadventurescrafting to see if crinkle paper is something she’dconsider adding to her selection of custom-made, custom-dyed stimmy soft toys and moosh shapes.
The thing is, I’m pretty sure that these things exist - that there’s etsy stim toy and plush toy makers who have made toys with crinkle paper. Toys that aren’t targeted at babies or pets. I just can’t find them.
Followers, have you seen this in your etsy trawling? Can you help me and anon out with a link?
ETA the first: Oh! I completely forgot - thanks so much for @caseydickdanger commenting and reminding me! He has crinkle cards (on sale for $12 USD) in his store! This would be absolutely perfect, I think!
ETA the second: updated to correct @dragonadventurescrafting‘s pronouns!
