I'm in love with your pet-only hypo lavender babies. Do you expect the kinked spines will affect handling? As in, is a kinked spine uncomfortable for them and will they shy away from handling? Or if a handler is careful and practiced, do you not expect an issue? Thanks for the thoughts!
Hello friend!
The kinks in these kiddos are a very minor birth defect, not an injury. They don't cause any pain or discomfort and don't result in any changes to behavior or temperament. Honestly I've seen babies kinked to a similar degree sold as normal because their breeders didn't even realize they were kinked at all. It's not visible to the naked eye, though you can feel it if you know what you're feeling for.
Kinked babies who thrive from an early age without assistance have similar growth trajectories and health outcomes to their non-kinked siblings. They don't come with any special handling considerations or caveats beyond their being excluded from breeding.
Not to say you shouldn't still be careful with them, because they are still little babies, but you don't have to be any more careful than you would be with any other baby.
