National Adoption Awareness Month
In case anyone wanted to know, November is National Adoption Awareness Month.
Do you have any adoption stories or pet stories?
Do you have a favorite pet book?
Do you read to your pets?
Did you have any childhood pets? If not, what would you want now?
Adoption is a great way of giving animals a second chance. Cats, dogs, small animals, reptiles, and fish! Almost all of my pets have been adopted, except for a couple of my more exotic pets.
My dog, Winston, was a rescue from Georgia. The shelter was shut down and he was brought up to Minnesota where me and my family found him at a humane society.
My cat, Karma, was adopted out of a local bookshop called The Wild Rumpus. One of the cats had kittens and they were up for adoption and she was the last at the end of the day.
Share some pet stories with me or photos of your babies, furry or scaly!
“Until one has loved an animal, a part of one's soul remains unawakened.”
If you’re looking for a lovely animal book, read “The Incredible Journey” by Sheila Burnford, which inspired the movie Homeward Bound.
