i have a lot to say about corporate vs private grooming but i will say that i am grateful i got my safety training and pet parent handling training in a corporate setting. understanding all the procedures in place to keep pets safe and keep lawsuits at bay is great knowledge to have now that im setting out on my own grooming business. i dont 100% agree with every policy in place, but i understand where a nongroomer higher up would make a call for safety reasons (ie, requiring pet parents to show id upon pick up to prevent dogs being kidnapped, no groomer helper type leads allowed to prevent negligence charges, not allowing dogs with certain health concerns to be booked for both pet safety and groomer safety, banning dogs that draw blood for any reason etc etc etc)
