I headcanon that as a Flower, Flowery didn't NEED food per say, he did eat on occasion but never really got enjoyment from it outside of bonding with others. However, as a Darkner he does get weaker without food (thus feeling the satisfaction from food for the first time)

I feel like Petalmark!Flowery would have a period of self isolation due to guilt relating to The Omega and his new form. He feels alien and unfamiliar in his own existence, he misses understanding exactly what he was and what his purpose was, despite logic he feels like he abandoned his only family by pushing his luck beyond what was allowed. A bunch of feelings but he'll perk up eventually.
