One unexpected side effect from the gastroscopy/dilation treatment session yesterday: more hypermobility/probably-EDS related fun with petechiae down this arm and hand! 🙃
Mostly on the back, for whatever reason. They're not showing up great in this lighting, and they actually looked worse/brighter red last night.
My best guess is that this came from the periodically auto-inflating blood pressure cuff, which felt pretty aggressively tight and stayed on there a good while because that was a longer session yesterday.
It was immediately very visible afterwards, and nobody has seemed to notice, or at least found it remarkable enough to say anything about it? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Have you guys ever heard of T causing petechiae in the arms and trunk? I've been having some light bleeding beneath the skin recently and I'm almost 7 months on T. My doctor thinks it's the T causing the bleeding.
it is listed as a potential side effect, but it’s not a super common one. if there’s nothing in your labs that gives a different reason for it, that seems a reasonable explanation for it.
mod mayhem
petechiae.
What are Tardieu's Spots?
In forensic pathology, Tardieu's spots are often observed in cases of strangulation or hanging where pressure on the neck leads to capillary rupture, which leads to the formation of these. Read More... #Forensicfield #forensicpathology #Tardieu'sspots

The answer is yes if you're wondering whether you can get a petechiae rash from stress. Here's what you need to know about this type of purp
Immune-mediated thrombocytopenia - aka #ITP - is a disease characterized by the destruction of #platelets by the #immunesystem. Without enough platelets, the body spontaneously bleeds. The 1st picture shows a dog with multiple bruises are called #petechiae & #ecchymoses. These lesions indicate bleeding into the #skin 👎🏻 The 2nd picture is of the SAME #dog who is currently responding very well to treatments after only 1 week! 🤭 🙌🏻 👉🏻ITP is personal to me. My 1st 🐶 had it & my experience with him spurred my ❤️ of #hematology & #immunology #dogs #cats #veterinary #vetmed #lovewhatyoudo #pets https://www.instagram.com/p/CGDRj-7FBu4/?igshid=1gon4y90d6mfh
