This is really crappy photo of Pete Hill's dual carbed, aluminum cylindered, 84" stroker knucklehead. Pete built it in the early seventies and it has been all over the country including a bunch of two up trips to Daytona and Bowling Green with his wife. I've been staring at this bike for years now and always assumed that he pieced it together with parts he traded for labor like he's known to do. Somehow we got talking about it today and come to find out it actually started out as an original 1948 panhead that he drug out of the mud behind a barn back in 1969. He paid less than the going price of an OG wassel tank for it. The entire bike was rusted up and wouldn't even roll due to sitting outside for so many years. So he went through the entire bike, made some modifications then built and swapped the hopped up knuck mill into it. The frame, springer, trans, primary, oil tank, rear wheel and brake and even the narrowed tanks are all original '48 while the front disc brake is a take off from his top fuel drag bike. The tank hanging off the sissy bar is an auxiliary fuel tank that his wife hand painted to look just like a Coors can #petehill #knucklehead #historylesson (at Pete Hill Motorcycles)
