Episode 3: Walk Like a Man: Backstage at JERSEY BOYS with Mark Ballas
The eleven-year run of Jersey Boys at Broadway's August Wilson Theatre will end this coming January, but the award-winning musical will live on in over a decade's worth of memories made by three of its long-lasting cast members. TheaterMania sat down with Peter Gregus, Mark Lotito, and Sara Schmidt to discuss everything from their most memorable performances to their vacation schedules.
Broadway’s JERSEY BOYS and THE LAST SHIP unite to help the 26th Annual New York Cares Coat Drive and City Harvest on Saturday, December 20 at 7:45pm with “Saturday Night Scream Christmas Carols,” an opportunity for fans and friends of both shows to donate a coat or canned goods and listen to the casts sing Christmas Carols on 52nd Street in front of the August Wilson Theatre (245 West 52nd Street) and Neil Simon Theatre (250 West 52nd Street).
The brain child of JERSEY BOYS cast member Peter Gregus, “’Saturday Night Scream Christmas Carols’ is a way to expand on the joyous fun we have every week here on 52nd Street with our long-time tradition of ‘Saturday Night Scream.’ The casts of Jersey Boys and The Last Ship combine forces to help the New York Cares Coat Drive and City Harvest. We will raise our voices together with some good old fashioned Christmas Carols and hope that our friends and fans show up with a coat or canned goods to donate while we sing. It’s a win-win. We get to sing Christmas carols, and the fans get to hear us sing them. And we’re helping others less fortunate during the holidays,” said Gregus.
