James is always so full of joy and smiling, you ever hardly ever saw him emotional
To be honest the first time you saw him emotional was when your baby was born.
The second time was when Dumbledore told the two of you You-Know-Who was after your son.
You tried to convince him that Dumbledore's plan - hiding the three of you and of your friends being your Secret-Keeper - was good, but James wouldn't hear it.
"It won’t be enough", James said suddenly, his eyes reflecting the conflict in his mind. “I need…I need to protect you guys better, it’s my role.”
You knew James loved action, and that it would basically be torture for him to not go out for what could be year. But you trusted Dumbledore, and you agreed with him.
But you eventually managed to convince him.
“He might possibly never find us, James. Plus, you heard Dumbledore: Voldemort is not sure who the prophecy is talking about. You know, I think Dumbledore is right most of the time, but this time, he might be wrong. James, as long as we listen to him and do what he tells us, we’re going to be fine.”
James sighed and nodded, and you took him in your arms.
Everybody that was close to Sirius knew how he felt about his family – and how they felt about him. He tried to pretend it didn’t affect him, putting on a happy, nonchalant face, and while he did hate them, you knew a part of him was saddened by the whole situation.
Especially when it came to his brother Regulus.
They used to be close as children but since they first attended Hogwarts and were sorted into two different houses, they wouldn’t even look at each other. And you knew that despite the current state of their relationship, Sirius was still sad and about Regulus joining Voldemort after being a fan of him for so long.
And when one day, one year after you and the Marauders had graduated from Hogwarts, Sirius arrived at your house, a sad look on his face, you instantly started to panic. Was it James? Remus? Peter? Someone you knew?
“What happened, Sirius?” you asked your boyfriend softly, gently taking his hand.
“Regulus,” Sirius whispered, staring at your joined hands. “Voldemort killed him. Or it was on his order anyway.”
You couldn't help but feel sad for Sirius, who lost someone he loved, but also for Regulus, because dying at such a young age was, despite what he did, still heartbreaking.
“I’m so sorry, babe.” You whispered, caressing his black, long hair.
You opened your arms and Sirius put his head on your shoulder as his body started shaking.
The sun was getting high in the sky and, ignoring the cold, you were running around the large, unfamiliar forest. Remus was in there, and you needed to know that he was alright.
Calling his name several times, you continued looking for him for a while, getting worried, when you heard a familiar coughing.
“Remus? Are you okay?”
You followed the coughing and found him sitting on the ground looking exhausted, and you noticed some blood on his face and on his arms. He didn’t seem to have noticed you, so you called his name out again. He finally rose his head and saw you.
“y/n? What are you doing here?! How did you…”
“James told me,” you said as he got up. “Remus, why didn’t you tell me you were a werewolf? I thought we could tell each other everything!”
“It’s true,” Remus said. “And I wanted to tell you, y/n, but... I'm a monster. One day I might just kill someone, including someone I love, and I-” He stopped, and tears rolled down his cheeks. "I can't. I was scared you would leave me if you knew."
You gave him a confused, sad look as you felt tears coming to your eyes. How could he possibly think that the fact that he was a were-wolf could change how you felt about him?
“Then you don’t know me at all, Remus John Lupin,” you suddenly snapped, “because if you did, you knew that I love you with all my heart since the first time I saw you, and that nothing, absolutely nothing in this world could change that. You’re the love of my life, werewolf or not.”
You came back to your place that day, and found Peter on the couch, his eyes empty of all emotions. You immediately felt something was wrong.
"Peter? What is it?"
Peter didn't move, but you somehow knew he heard you.
"James and Lily..." he said after a moment. "He found them. They're both dead. But, Harry survived somehow."
It took you a while to process the information. Lily and James were two of your closest friends, and you've scared for them ever since Voldemort was after them. You felt your heart break, and sat beside Peter.
"How come he found them?" you suddenly asked, realizing something must have happened in order for Voldemort to find where the Potter were hiding. You knew they were under the Fidelius Charm, but you didn't know who was the "And what do you mean Harry survived?"
"I don't know how he is still alive," Peter said silently, looking at his hands. "I..."
As if the sorrow was to heavy he started crying, his hands before his eyes.
You immediately hugged him, trying to comfort him while being as heartbroken as if was.
However, you flet as if something was odd, but you just couldn't put your finger on it.
"y/n", he said after you separated. "Sirius...Sirius was the Secret-Keeper. He betrayed them."
You woke up laying in your bed, in the room you shared with your husband, feeling weaker than ever before.
You could still feel the pain from the torture the Dark Lord influcted you after Harry Potter and his friends managed to escape your manor. You could feel the blood dripping on different parts of your body as well, and you could still him scream in rage, and your husband begging his master to punish him instead of you.
Coming to your senses, you saw Lucius sitting close to the bed, your hand in his. You could see he was hurt too, but you thanked Merlin his wounds were nowhere as bad as yours, and noticedhis red eyes.
"Lucius?" you whispered, suddenly feeling the bandages where you had been hurt the most. He turned to you and immediately leaned towards your face to kiss your forehead.
"y/n, my love, I'm so sorry," he whispered. "I never meant for this to happen, I-" You felt tears on his face, and used the energy you had to put your hand on his cheek.
"It's not your fault, darling," you said. "You always did the best you could to keep me away from him. You have nothing to feel sorry about. I love you, Lucius."
As you got in the bed next to you and cuddled you, you realized that you would suffer that torture a thousand times if it meant you had Lucius in your life. You were about to say that outloud but he was quicker that you.
"It can't go on like this," Lucius said, looking at the wall in front of you. "We need to leave. We need to get away from this madness, and from him."
"You're such an asshole, Potter!"
Ignoring his and his friends' laughs, you turned around and starting running around for your best friend.
You asked the older Slytherin students you ran into, and after a moment, you finally got a positive answer, the student telling you were they saw Severus only moments ago.
You ran into that direction, ignoring the looks the other students gave you, and finally saw him, sitting alone.
"Severus?" you said gently. "Are you okay?"
You walked to him and kneeled by his side.
"I can't stand it anymore," he said in such a low voice that you had trouble hearing him for a second. "I...I want to hurt them. All of them. You want them to know the pain I feel."
It broke your heart to see Severus like that. You had been sorted into Gryffindor at the start of your first year here at Hogwarts, but even the rivality between you house and Severus' couldn't break the friendship bewteen you two, and unlike most Gryffindor - and most students that weren't Slytherin - you never liked Quidditch star James Potter and his friends. You tried to stop them for attacking Severus as much as you could, but you weren't always together and therefore couldn't always be there to help him.
"I get it," you said, "but, Severus, they're not worth it. Plus you might even have problems with McGonagall or Dumbledore. Really Sev, it's not worth it. You're better than all of them."
You put an arm around him, and put your other hand in his. His body eventually relaxed but his eyes were still full of anger. You caressed his hand, and he raised his eyes to look at you and give you to give you a little smile.
