In the News :: Students Learn the Art of Engagement at the Cleveland Institute of Music, Oct. 28

The Cleveland Institute of Music Art of Engagement seminar returns to Mixon Hall on Monday, October 28 at 4pm. Hosted by the  Cavani String Quartet with Peter Salaff and CIM alumna, violist Elizabeth Oakes, guest speaker, this educational event is free and open to the public.

Based on an innovative program that gives Conservatory students a chance to weave public speaking and audience engagement skills into the fabric of their musical development, the seminar provides the public with a “behind-the-scenes” glimpse as the Cavani coach CIM students on how to communicate with audiences of all ages to get them excited about live classical music.

Concert Series :: Faculty Recital featuring Works by Brahms & Hartke, Sept. 6

Join us for the first Cleveland Institute of Music Faculty Recital of the 2013-14 Concert Season!

Members of the Cleveland Institute of Music faculty--along with student and guest artists--present an evening of Brahms and Hartke in Mixon Hall on Friday, September 6.

The program for the concert will be:

BRAHMS Clarinet Quintet in B minor, Op. 115 HARTKE The Rose of the Winds for String Octet BRAHMS Trio for Horn, Violin and Piano in E-flat Major, Op. 40

NOTE: Doors open 30 minutes prior to concert start time. The concert is presented at no charge, but seating passes are required.

Chamber Music Master Class :: Peter Salaff, Feb. 11

Master violinist and CIM faculty member Peter Salaff (director, String and Piano Chamber Music) will present a chamber music master class on Monday, Feb. 11 at 4 p.m. in Mixon Hall.
