AAAHHHHH how awesome was that!! I felt the lyrics of this song really linked to the moment where Peter still showed up to drive Lara Jean home as he knew she didnt like driving in the snow *bursts into tears from the cuteness* No matter their relationship status or last words spoken to each other, or how hurt he was, he showed up.

I’m late whatever but I got some feelings about TATBILB...(spoilers)

Like I know Peter passed it off as trying to make Gen jealous... But man the faces he kept making while looking at LJ before they reeeeallly fell for each other...like she was explaining the letters to him in the diner and he really kinda did seem disappointed about not being the only guy she wrote a letter for...don’t think it was just an ego thing...and when she wanted to leave, he was kinda like “oh. Already?”

Then the drive home, he kept asking what she’ll do and seemed genuinely worried about her and she tells him it’s not something for him to worry about and he looks kinda bummed out...

And then when she tells him that she’ll fake date him and his first instinct was to friggen kiss her?!?!?! Like y’all coulda made a big declaration later but y’all hadn’t even sorted out anything past “let’s do this!”

And then and then, whilst making their contract, he’s the one who was working a future mindset! Contingency my butt!!! Who plans a fake relationship three months in advance??? And there was no awkwardness in this first real conversation they had together (minus the first diner scene)...like they so organically bantered with each other and planned some dates to watch movies together like y’all...this is fake dating yeah???

And he’s the one who suggested the notes...like he looked genuinely shy about suggesting it and then proceeds to mention Gen but like he genuinely looked excited about writing some cute little love notes for LJ??? Excited is probably the wrong word but whatever! His face gets all soft and squee....

AND THEN and then that little hand in back pocket little twirl and giggle and smile??? Defs didn’t seem staged though it mostly was...

AND THENNNN him pulling out her scrunchie, saying she looked pretty, having no hesitation in making her his background, putting the scrunchie on his wrist no shame, then having a selfie together and encouraging a cheek kiss like...y’all just flirting so naturally, Gen ain’t even there??? Like who is watching y’all?? I mean social media whatever but y’all just enjoying yourselves and each other’s company!!!!

AND THEN THE MOST OBVIOUS THING OF ALL MOMENT WHERE THEY GENUINELY STARTED TO FALL FOR EACH OTHER AT THE CAFE AFTER A WONDERFUL HEART TO HEART ABOUT THEIR PARENTS AND LOVE AND ALL THAT:

“You don’t seem afraid to be with me”

“Well, there’s no reason to be”

“Why’s that?”

“........Cause we’re just pretending”

AND THE LOOK OF DISAPPOINTMENT ON HIS FACE MY HEART BROKE RIGHT ALONG WITH HIM HOLY HELL...

Thank you so much person who giffed this l cannot deal with his face that is the visual representation of backtracking into friend zone after stepping a toe out of it...

And of course what proceeded was just them enjoying their “fake” relationship and hanging out and him probably not even operating under pretenses...if there was an “antagonist” in this film, it was less so the ex-girlfriend or the viral nature of the Internet and more so Lara Jean’s reservations about allowing herself to fall for Peter Kavinsky...

Because ugh he was already showing symptoms before they even started dating!!!
