“Are you hostile to everyone, or just your sister’s would be suitors?” Though, that was something he certainly was not.

A Pick Me Up Of The Rat Kind || Peter and Sirius
Sirius was lying flat on his back on his bed, staring up at the deep red canopy above him, his mind flitting off to think on things, the sounds of James, Peter and Remus filtering through his thoughts occasionally. Remus and James were playing a game of wizards chess, one that must have been rather exciting, Sirius decided from the shouts and whoops coming from where they were playing. Peter was watching eagerly, waiting to see who was going to win and would therefore be playing him next. Sirius had declined to take part in the tournament; given all that had been going on lately he wasn’t in the mood for a game of wizards chess. He felt troubled and anxious, mostly because of what was going on with Andromeda, not to mention furious that her, and Ted, and had been attacked by Rosier. Every time he thought about it a hot rage bubbled inside of him and he had to clench his fists hard enough that his fingers dug into his skin to stop from exploding. He still hadn’t decided what to do about it. And then there was the death of his Uncle Alphard. He hadn’t told anyone yet and the letter that had come with the news from Alphard was still burning a hole in the pocket of his robes.
Suddenly it was too loud and claustrophobic and stuffy in the dorm; Sirius needed to be somewhere quiet, where his already difficult thoughts wouldn’t be interrupted by the zealous sounds of a chess tournament. Pushing himself off his bed first, he grabbed his cloak from the foot of it and left the dorm quickly, doing nothing more than sending a quick mutter in the others’ direction as a goodbye. His feet took him quickly through the corridors, heading to the Astronomy Tower before his brain even had time to catch up. It didn’t take him long to get there from the Gryffindor Tower. The cool summer breeze hit him as soon as he went outside, making him feel a little better immediately. Sliding down the wall, he sat down on the cold, stone floor, his legs stretched out in front of him. His hand going into the pocket of his robe, he closed his fingers on the letter. He pulled it out, and holding it in front of his face stared at his name on the front of it wondering if anything in it would help with the confused state he was currently in.
