It was both the mental and physical exhaustion... or at least that's what Jasper had blamed his mood on. It was like waking up on the wrong side of the bed times a hundred; every little annoyance normally gone unnoticed drove him up the fucking wall. Usually, a walk would fix such a state of irritability-- the chilly air would wrap around him and stir him awake by breathing some life back into him again. Today, however, he mumbled grumpily under his breath as the wind seem to whip against his cheeks, filling his ears with the faintest echoes of maniacal laughter. Something was watching him; something was TEASING him.
As he turned the corner, another body appeared right before him as Jasper jumped back to keep from colliding. "Woah, woah," his tone a little louder and harsher than it normally would've been. "Watch where you're going."
